A Real Parent's Story

The Mamenchisaurus That Made My Daughter a Dino Fan

She walked past a dozen exhibits without interest until she saw the 30-meter dinosaur skeleton and froze for ten minutes.

I took my daughter expecting an hour visit. We stayed three and a half hours. The moment she walked into the central atrium and saw that Mamenchisaurus skeleton towering above her, she was transfixed. The spiral layout takes you down through earth history with hands-on exhibits at every level. The fossil rubbing station was a hit. The gift shop has affordable dinosaur toys (20-50 RMB). It is free entry but book ahead. Best free thing in Shanghai.
