Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
Go at opening time (10 AM) — by 11:30 school groups arrive and it gets loud.
The touch pool is the highlight for younger kids. Arrive early before the crowd forms around it.
The underwater tunnel is 85 meters long. Walk it slowly — the sharks swim over you every few minutes.
Combine with COEX Mall shopping and the Starfield Library (Instagram-famous bookshelf) — they're all connected.
The Komodo dragon exhibit is unique — COEX is one of the few Asian aquariums with one.

A Real Parent's Story
He touched a starfish and declared himself a marine biologist
“My 4-year-old gently touched a starfish at the touch pool and announced 'I'm a scientist now.' He spent the next 15 minutes carefully petting every creature with the most serious expression. Future marine biologist in the making.”

COEX Aquarium is excellent for a rainy Seoul day. The 85-meter tunnel walkway is genuinely impressive — my kids ran back and forth as sharks passed overhead. The Amazonia zone is dark and mysterious (a bit scary for under-3s). The touch pool is well-supervised and the staff make sure kids handle the creatures gently. The connected COEX Mall has endless food options.
