Tips & Tricks from Real Parents

1

Download the show schedule PDF before you go. The orca show fills up 30 minutes early on weekends.

2

North Pavilion (Journey of the Antarctic) is quieter — most crowds go to the dolphin show first.

3

The orca training pool viewing window is on the 3rd floor. Get there 15 minutes before training at 11 AM.

4

Consider a baby carrier — escalators between floors get crowded after shows.

5

Combine with the Port of Nagoya Maritime Museum and the Sky Tower Ferris wheel for a full-day outing.

A Real Parent's Story

The orca that waved back at my daughter

During training, an orca lifted its pectoral fin and 'waved' at the audience. My 6-year-old waved back frantically. She's convinced they made a connection.

We drove from Tokyo specifically for this aquarium. The orca show is more educational than performative — explaining hunting behaviors, social structures, and conservation. The touch pool with small sharks was a hit. Only downside: bring your own lunch — the cafe is mediocre and expensive.
