Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
The dolphin show has 3 daily performances (11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM) — book at the dolphinarium entrance as soon as you arrive. Weekend shows sell out by noon.
The Exotarium (aquarium + reptile house) is a separate ticket but your kids 5+ will love it — there’s a walk-through tunnel with fish overhead.
Paddleboat rental on the lake costs 8 BYN for 30 min — cheap fun that tires kids out before the walk back.
The contact zoo (20 BYN) lets kids feed rabbits, guinea pigs, and goats — bring hand sanitizer, washing stations are limited.
The zoo is huge (30+ hectares). Rent a family bike or use the tram that circles the grounds (№1 every 15 minutes).

A Real Parent's Story
A dolphin high-fived my son
“During the dolphin show, a dolphin swam to the edge and ‘high-fived’ my 5-year-old’s hand. His jaw dropped. He didn’t speak for a full minute. Then he asked if we could adopt a dolphin. We’re still debating it.”

Minsk Zoo is better than I expected. The dolphinarium is small but the pool is clean and the trainers clearly care about the animals. The Exotarium is surprisingly good — piranhas, anacondas, a coral reef tank. The main zoo area needs renovation in parts but the bison enclosure and bear habitats are decent. A solid 4-hour outing that won’t break the bank.
