Tips & Tricks from Real Parents
Go at 6am or after 8pm — the main path is shoulder-to-shoulder during peak hours (10am-4pm) and small kids get lost in the crowd.
The full loop is 4km and takes 2 hours — with kids just do the first 20 minutes for the best photo spots and turn back.
Bring a flashlight or use your phone — some upper sections of the path have no lighting at night.

A Real Parent's Story
The gates are even more magical at 6am with no crowds
“We had the entire tunnel of a thousand gates to ourselves. My kids pretended they were running through a secret portal.”

Everyone told us to skip it because of crowds. We went at 6am. The gates are atmospheric in the early morning light, mist rising through the forest. My daughters (ages 6 and 8) ran ahead through the tunnel of gates, hiding behind pillars and jumping out. The first 15 minutes is the most photogenic stretch. We turned back before it got steep. Having it nearly empty was worth the early wake-up — we were back at the hotel by 8am for breakfast.
